The lights and decorations for the festive season this year were a little different due to the passing of King Bhumibol. Originally it was thought that CentralWorld would cancel their annual Christmas tree decorations. However, at the last minute they decided to go ahead. This year’s theme is “Winter White, the Garden of Happiness”. The trees are white and simply decorated with yellow lights and gold ribbons to remember the King. There are also many traditional icons of Christmas including reindeer, stars, bells, and snowflakes. A seasonal Thai touch is provided by one of the most popular light formations in this year’s display – a corridor of golden yellow flowers each individually lit and climbing high above visitors’ heads.
