In early December 2015, a large herd of elephants arrived in front of Siam Paragon, one of Bangkok’s major shopping malls. They were taking part in an Elephant Parade. But these weren’t real animals. Rather, they were a part of the world’s largest outdoor art exhibition. The herd consists of eighty-eight brightly coloured elephants, which have been decorated and hand painted by artists and celebrities. They will later be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation.
