Wan Lai Bangsaen Festival

Wan Lai Bangsaen

The Wan Lai Festival is held every year in Bangsaen a few days after Songkran. If you missed the water fights elsewhere in Thailand, you will get a second chance on Bangsaen Beach in Chonburi. The festival starts with merit making by offering alms to monks and then pouring rose scented water on Buddha images and the hands of elders. The highlight of the festival, other than the water fights along Beach road, are the building of giant sand pagodas called “Chedi Sai”.
